Olympic Day The Miami Sports Olympic Day was created to give teen campers the opportunity to learn and participate in Olympic sports they might not have been exposed to in the past. Seven hundred and fifty teens from parks around the city attended and were given the opportunity to choose six Olympic sports they are most interested in learning about. The sport stations were run by sport clubs and organizations in the area, and participants received a free t-shirt and lunch. Sport stations included: archery, badminton, boxing, fencing, field hockey, judo, lacrosse, powerlifting, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. Thank you to all of those involved who helped make the inaugural event run smoothly! For those interested, the Miami-Dade Sports Commission is planning to host a second Olympic Day next April.
