Travel Information
South Florida provides travelers with ease and convenience. With three airports servicing international and domestic flights, three major seaports, numerous in-state and interstate highways, and one of the most widely used rail systems, South Florida’s accessibility reigns high in the convenience department.

Air Service
The Miami International Airport (MIA) has more than 1,000 take offs and landings per day, and more than 569,000 passengers fly into and out of MIA on average each week. 150 cities and four continents are easily within reach of MIA. Additionally, the Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport (FLL), located only 25 miles north of Miami, provides additional flights and non-stop service to even more destinations.

Several other airports, such as Opa-locka Airport, Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport, and Homestead General Aviation Airport can accommodate commuter and private planes.

Rail Service
South Florida is connected and served by a commuter rail service designed to move the general public from West Palm Beach to Miami. Miami-Dade County's 22-mile elevated rapid transit system, Metrorail, moves through the entire county and connects with Broward and Palm Beach counties at the Tri-Rail/Metrorail transfer station. There are 22 accessible stations providing easy access for bus riders, pedestrians, and passengers being dropped off and picked up.
